The Hungarian Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra is among the most respected and acknowledged Hungarian ensembles. It was formed with excellent young musicians of the Liszt Music Academy of Budapest in 1988. Founded by Miklos Szenthelyi, violinist and Artistic Director. This all strings orchestra has built a vast repertoire with a special emphasis on the romantic compositions. There have been numerous tours to the U.S., Canada, Japan, India, South Korea, South America and almost every country in Europe. During the last decades the Virtuosi gave more than 50 tours to abroad and the number of their concerts during the tours is over 500. On its concerts and tours the orchestra has worked with many excellent singers, instrumentalists and conductors. For years on its guest appearances the ensemble performed together with Jean-Pierre Rampal, the world-widely-known flutist, with whom they recorded W.A.Mozart: Flute Concertos under the label of PROdigital in the USA. In 2008 the Virtuosi were invited for the Mumbai Hungarian Cultural Festival to India where their performances were the highlights of the series. The CDs of the Hungarian Virtuosi were released under the labels of PROdigital, Summerfest and Romeo in the US, and the Hungarian Hungaroton, the International Naxos Company (it is a double Rossini-album) and also of Gloria CD Publishing. In Hungary the Virtuosi is the most well-known ensemble, thank to their numerous performances they are giving in the most elegant concert venues: e.g. the Houses of Parliament, Palace of Arts, Matthias Church, the Ball Hall of Hilton Budapest and the Hilton Dominican Courtyard.
